YOUTH BOYS PROGRAM - GENERAL INFORMATION
Boys Age Groups
We follow USA Lacrosse guidelines and age group standards. Below is an overview of the typical age group placement and a brief description of gameplay at each level. New and returning players are welcome at all age groups.
U8 | Grades K–2
Games are played in a 4v4 format on a 60 yd x 35 yd field, with no offsides and 3’ x 3’ goals. Goalies are optional.
The focus at U8 is on having fun, building excitement for the game, and developing basic lacrosse skills and individual confidence.
U10 | Grades 3–4
Games move to an 8v8 format on the same field size as U8, using standard 4’ x 4’ goals with goalies required.
U10 continues to emphasize fun and enjoyment while introducing more structured skill development and overall athletic growth.
U12 | Grades 5–6
Gameplay transitions to a regulation-size field (110 yd x 60 yd) in a 10v10 format.
At this level, players further develop foundational skills such as passing, catching, and recovering ground balls, with a greater emphasis on teamwork and game awareness.
U14 | Grades 7–8
U14 continues with regulation field size and 10v10 play, building on the skills learned at U12.
This level focuses on refining lacrosse skills, increasing game understanding, and preparing players for the high school game.
